Software Engineer Intern

Omnitech, Inc., a growing professional services company focused on technology, is currently seeking a Software Engineer – Intern. Interns at Omnitech work side by side with professional engineers and consultants in a learning based culture. Interns are challenged to research and present information to fellow engineers.

As an Omnitech Software Engineer, you will be using the latest programming tools and techniques for creating highly customized and complex applications. In our dynamic and exciting development environment you will be challenged daily.
This position requires a candidate with strong interpersonal and self-motivational skills in order to meet deadlines. You must be a fluent communicator with both fellow team members and company clients. You must be able to apply your analytical skills to deftly troubleshoot and resolve development issues as they arise. You must be able to adapt to varied environments, projects and roles on teams.

• Take ownership of any step in the development process from design through maintenance as required;
• Develop software based on specifications provided by internal and external clients;
• Mentor team members, and constructively contribute to enhancing the technical knowledge of the development group, as a whole;
• Conduct proper client support related to all company projects, as requested;
• Work mostly on-site at Omnitech with possibility of off-site visits at client locations;
• Produce timely and accurate reports of work completed;
• Perform and communicate in a team environment.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field;
• Desire to learn technologies like C#, .NET, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery;
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think quickly and offer alternatives;
• Organized, goal-oriented, motivated self-starter who can work well in a team environment;
• Working knowledge of agile software development life-cycle.

• Experience with HTML5, Silverlight, Mobile Device Development;
• Experience with Microsoft WPF, WCF, WF, LINQ;
• Experience using Microsoft SQL Server: Entity Framework, SSMS, DTS/SSIS;
• Experience with Architecture patterns such as MVC and MVVM;
• Experience with developing for SharePoint 2010, Orchard, WordPress, DotNetNuke, or Joomla;
• Programming background in a high-level programming language such as C, C++,Perl, or Java;
• Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services, Business Objects, or Crystal Reports (using overall product; building complex reports);
• Experience writing SQL and performing administration for other database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS Access, etc.;
• Experience with data warehouse development;
• Experience with Quality Assurance and testing of web applications or software.
